Vision
Making Jesus the heart of Southsea.
St Jude’s has, for a long time, been the church at the very heart of Southsea but our main purpose is to Make Jesus the heart Southsea.
Values are the things which we hold closest to us. They help us to make our decisions, they are core to who we are. Above all things we are a Word and Spirit church, holding both together and expecting God to lead us in our decisions, our ministry, our worship and our lives by His Spirit and through His Word.
Our Values
Our vision helps us to understand how we will go about making Jesus the heart of Southsea. What will we do? What will we not do?
Our Vision
Offering Hope
As part of our vision to Make Jesus the heart of Southsea we seek to offer hope. Our desire is to be intentional in becoming a beacon of hope where everyone can respond to the good news of Jesus and experience restoration and freedom in Him.
We have a Offering Hope strategy and Hope Team, and you can find out more about it by reading our strategy, or visiting the Hope Team page on our website.
Growing Faith
As part of our vision to Make Jesus the heart of Southsea we seek to see people grow in faith. To do this, we want to create opportunities to encounter Jesus, be guided by His Word and empowered by His Spirit.
Our desire is to be intentional in providing a pathway to grow a deeper relationship with Jesus. We expect that as a desire to become disciples develops as a part of the fabric of how we work, we will see real fruit.

Sharing God’s Love
As part of our vision to Make Jesus the heart of Southsea we seek to Share God’s Love. We long to be a place which is rebuilding and transforming lives, community, and culture by sharing the radical love of God.
Our desire is to be intentional in providing a pathway to Share the Love of God, and help people walk into faith. We are still working on our Sharing God’s Love strategy, but check back soon for more details.
What does this mean?
Our vision was launched in September 2021 and we explained each in a short sermon series. You can hear all these sermons below - they outlines what the vision means to us, and what we need to do to take part. Throughout 2022 our sermon series was based on these three aspects of our vision, tackling a section each term. You can listen to those on our SoundCloud page.
