Prayer of Commitment to God/Adoration
In this type of prayer, someone will lead you in submitting to God and calling Him Lord. This might be a prayer you feel you want to pray if you know that you either haven’t followed God before or have been walking away from him.
Prayer of Intercession and Petition
In this prayer, we will simply pray for whatever situation you have on your heart. Either the team will pray on your behalf (intercede) or can lead you in praying (petition).
Examples of these prayers include (but are not limited to):
A difficult work situation or relationship.
A world/local event which is particularly concerning you.
A family member who you are praying for.
That you would hear God speak more.
Prophetic Prayer
In this prayer, the team will ask the Lord if he has anything to share with you. You are welcome to share what is on your heart as you ask for this prayer but the team will not give advice or specific life direction on questions such as, for example, who to marry, which job to take or an answer to a pressing decision.
You might like to ask the team to ask God the following questions:
What are you saying to me at the moment?
When you formed me, how did you perceive me?
Prayer for Healing
In this prayer, the team will pray for healing over a situation or for something physical. If appropriate, the team may ask if they can place their hand on the area to be prayed for, but you don’t have to agree to this.
Examples of these prayers include (but are not limited to):
Prayer for an illness (physical or mental) you are suffering from.
Prayer for an injury.
Prayer for healing of a broken relationship.
Prayer of Forgiveness
Often our refusal to forgive others can get in the way of the work of God. Jesus was clear that we should forgive each other, as we are forgiven. The team can help you with this by leading you in a simple prayer to begin to forgive. Often this is a process, like pealing an onion, and may need to be returned to again.
Prayers for Peace
In this prayer, the team will ask the Lord to bring you peace over a situation or at a time when you might be feeling a lack of peace. This kind of prayer might be particularly important if you feel under spiritual attack or that you are facing a particularly difficult situation or situations. The team will ask the Lord to bring you peace and to protect you – asking Him to shine His light into your situation.
